First RC plane and RC gear recommendation

NOTE: Most chargers do not come with a power supply. Need to connect to car battery, or use a 12V DC power pack, like a printer or laptop wall charger.

  1. Hi Andrew - recently go one of these for a newbie and they fly beautifully and are totally indestructible. Not a pusher put the motor is up on a stick which is almost as good.

    They are as crash resistant as the other planes in the series.

    Can you please provide a quick explanation video on how you constructed the tail and attached it to the CF boom?
    Will this bird also fly OK with ailerons?

  3. Hey Andrew... This is Terry (Living good)on you tube I was wondering about the power for this glider. I built the first one and had a motor on it and was so ready to fly it. I have a transmitter that I thought was a good one and I know I messed up when I got it because I found out it was a lot more complicated than I would figure out. Any way I killed the first plane. She took off and she crashed breaking up the fuselodge so bad that I had to tape her up and the second throw she did go about thirty feet then crashed again. She did glide pretty good before the crash. I had to start over on the front of the plane. My wings was from a carton that was just like your boxler. I just don't wanna kill my second attempt so what I am asking is...... Are the gliders using a motor that is putting out a lot more watts? More powerful than the smaller planes? I am a newbe and trying to fly. I like your design and I think it will fly great. I guess I am gonna have to get a new motor. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Oh and I did order and waiting on a Flysky FS-i6X 2.4GHz 10CH Upgrade Flysky i6 AFHDS 2A RC Transmitter TX with iA6B Receiver and Crazepony Strap. The at9 Radiolink transmitter I first bought is hard to understand for now. I will get a video of the plane and post if I can get her to fly. Any help or directions on where to go read, watch a video would be appreciated.

  4. Greeting Terry, thanks for all your comments mate. The motor I would recommend for this one is the Turnigy 2622 1450kv https://hobbyking.com/en_us/d2822-14-brushless-outrunner-1450kv.html It's a small but very versatile motor. Certainly don't need lots of thrust for this style of motor glider, any small motor will be enough. Make sure the Centre of Gravity is correct, keep the plane as light as possible, avoid wind, do a glide test first. Good luck and make sure you video it for me.

  5. Thanks Andrew. I will look up that motor and see about getting it. As soon as my transmitter gets here I will record it and I sure hope its not a crash. I think I will prefer the Flysky. Thanks a bunch Andrew I am really interested in the gliders and would like to fly one.

    1. Hello Metin. I just used the simplest Clark Y style of airfoil and it worked well. I don't know anything about the S1223, it looks to be radically under cambered. Is there some reason you want to use it?

    When ı look for the "diy rc plane " at the internet ı saw that s 1223 airfoil wings are suitable for high lift and slow fly.

    I want my rc plane to fly slow for controlling easy. Because it Will be my first rc plane. I am a beginner and the normal speed may be fast for me:)

  8. I think that airfoil would be very difficult to make, just stick with a Clark Y. But most importantly keep the plane as light as possible. That will make it a slow flier. You will most likely crash it early on so you want something that is easy to rebuild. Good luck, let me know how you go Email - anewton@gmal.com
